New Strategy

So, I intended to work out yesterday (I really did) and then I realized as I got to the gym that I was STARVING. So, starving and with no energy (I had not eaten since noon, and it was nearly 6:30) I went home and had a light dinner.

I'm noticing that I need to do a better job of planning out what I eat. In the evening and after work, making dinner and then prepping food for the next day can be laborious, especially when it creates more dishes than I want to hand-wash at the moment. I've spent all day working, thinking, exercising, talking, and when I get home cooking is sometimes the last thing I want to do.

But it's not packing a lunch that's a problem, part of the problem is what I pack. Eating every three hours is no small amount of food, especially if you want to keep it interesting. I'm starting to realize that when I eat my 4 to 5 p.m. "meal," it needs to be larger to fuel my workout around 5:30.

Anyway I need to figure out bigger snacks. I haven't really had to eat like that before (I'm used to 200 calorie snacks) so I'll have to do some pondering.
