Thursday recap - Week of 3-1-10

Monday goal: Cardio, 30 minutes.
Monday actual: Cardio, 23 minutes (I was pressed for time).

Tuesday goal: 30 minutes of weights, 30 minutes of cardio
Tuesday actual: 15 minutes of weights (I began cramping on the first set, boo), and 30 minutes gluteal on the elliptical. About 5 to 10 minutes of stretching.

Wednesday goal: 30 minutes of cardio
Wednesday actual: 30 minutes of cardio

Thursday goal: 30 minutes of weights, 30 minutes of cardio
Thursday actual: 30 minutes of cardio (no weights)

So, I should explain why I didn't do weights yesterday. I made this goal before I cramped Tuesday (and my hamstrings are still quite tight) so I am not pushing it with the weights until I clear that whole thing up. I have been taking my OS-Cal regularly (2x/day) and yesterday I actually managed to drink 8 glasses of water!

My bladder is still adjusting to the new water intake, but I've been told it gets better. Now my weekend challenge is to maintain all this (not the workouts, but the water, healthier eating and such).

Sleep Update
On another note, this morning was the 2nd or 3rd morning in a row where I woke up before my alarm went off. Not *awake* woke up, but you know, gently started gliding out of sleep. Now, I am asleep by 10:30 and up by 6:30, I'm almost willing to bet my long-overdue sleep debt has been repaid. I can definitely tell a difference. And it only took, what - 2 months? But it was worth it!

Weekend Goals
It may be better to write them down here rather than not do it and forget to hold myself accountable:

1. Continue to drink 64 oz of water a day.
2. When I eat out, make the healthy choice.
3. Upon getting home, go immediately to the grocery store with Dan.

A big part of my problem with staying healthy and losing weight is that there is never any food at Dan's house. (Well, there is food, but it's not food you could put together in a meal. Unless you like vegetable soup. And I like their vegetable soup, but there can be too much of a good thing, right? Not that vegetable soup isn't good for you, it's just that a girl needs variety, is all. You know what I'm talking about? And who eats vegetable soup for breakfast? Not that you couldn't, I mean it's good soup, honest! Please don't hurt me for wanting more than just your soup!!!!)

And on that note I will bid you farewell - til next Monday! :)

  1. LOL! I know what you mean! Until Marcin went grocery shopping all he had were stuff for sandwhiches and Tuna Helper and there is so much tuna helper a girl can take. Especially one who is trying to make healthy choices!

  2. I know, tell me about it. I'm pretty sure Dan doesn't do the grocery shopping, and his Dad only really buys stuff for their homemade vegetable soup and pot roast. The top shelf of their fridge, for example, is dedicated only to meat sauces. The bottom drawer is strictly potatoes. Curse of the life of a bachelor, maybe?

  3. I think it's more like they are "meat and potatoes" kind of men
